I feel very strongly about promoting AvantGarde themes. Obviously, created top notch product for you all to enjoy is my absolute number one priority, but I also need to get the message out there that these themes exist. Not trying to sound cynical about it, but in other words, I'm chasing more downloads. The reasoning is that if the AvantGarde community grows, there will be more users to provide feedback and suggestions to help improve my themes and remain competitive and useful for you, the user.

I've done a bit of statistical analysis, and it showed that when someone downloads an AvantGarde theme, they are over two times as likely to keep it and use it every day than someone who downloads one of the top 10 most-downloaded themes. AvantGarde themes also have some of the highest review ratings. So it seems that user-satisfaction is quite high, and I will continue to make sure that this standard is maintained. If more people downloaded AvantGarde themes, this trend would be likely to continue, and more users would discover them.

Herein lies the problem. Firefox users just aren't discovering my themes. So I'm employing a new, aggressive strategy to lure more Firefox users into downloading my themes. Because chances are they'll get a very pleasant surprise when they do. So I'm using heaps of new tags for my themes, to help increase their prevalence in searches on the Mozilla Add-ons website. I've created some flashy new preview pictures, to grab the attention of anyone browsing through Firefox themes. But my most innovative idea comes from a completely different area of thought.

I'm trying to support as many languages as possible in the Mozilla Add-ons site. Of course, all my themes work in all languages (as far as I'm aware), but their descriptions and names are of course in English. If there is no translated support for the language the user is surfing in, then the Mozilla Add-ons site reverts back to English. So instead, I am attempting to translate my descriptions and text into a grand total of 18 other languages. This includes just about every right-to-left language using the Latin or Cyrillic alphabets.Of course, I do not know how to speak 18 foreign languages, so I've employed an internet translator to do give me a bit of a head start. The rest, I've asked international users to kindly provide. This is just another example of my strong belief (which is shared by Mozilla) that together, we can create a better internet. And by users providing their own translations to my original English text, I can provide specific, clear and understandable information to users all over the world, in 18 different languages.

This technique is hoping to capitalise on the portion of Mozilla Firefox users who do not speak English, and who would be undoubtedly encouraged to download and use a theme, if it was described in a language they could understand. Before I put myself to work on my idea, I thought it would be commonplace, but it seems that my theme is one of very few that is described in more than English, let alone a total of 19 languages.

So please, send your translations in to rob.holian@y7mail.com - I cannot repay you other than with my gratitude, but please understand that you will be helping countless other people from your country to brighten up their internet browsers, and their lives.
